Watertown Development Co. Seeks County Partnership for Critical Lift Station Boosting

The proposed lift station, estimated to cost $4.2 million, will serve approximately 400 acres in the Calvin Industrial Park area. Clifton explained that the federal government has agreed to an 80-20 funding split for the project. This means that the local match required would be around $1.1 million. He highlighted that this lift station is crucial for the expansion of local companies and the attraction of new businesses, which in turn would create new jobs and capital investment.

Commissioner VanDusen inquired what the “ask” would be of the County monetarily to participate in the partnership, and Clifton gave an estimate between $200,000 and $400,000.
